Drama 7: Section 54
Instructor: Ms. Kay
The mission of the Performing Arts Exploratory Classes is to develop student creativity and performance abilities in order to effectively communicate to others through music and/or drama and to help students become knowledgeable consumers of the arts. Classes are designed to meet the Illinois State Fine Arts Standards and to work toward 21st Century Fluencies of Creative Fluency, Solution Fluency and Collaboratioin Fluency. Grades will be based mostly on performance (teacher assessed and student self-assessment) but will also include written assignments and assessments.

Drama:  Students will learn how to better communicate with their voice (breath support, tone, diction, style, and interpretation), facial expression, body language, and movement. Students will learn theatre terminology and stage directions. Students will learn and practice these skills by working with theatre games, monologues, improvisation, pantomime, diction, vocal projection, singing for actors, character development, oral interpretation, readers theater, storytelling, skits and sections of plays.
